Technology for the working classroom
Technology should facilitate learning and bring it alive—not bog it down. Ember puts practical, teacher-built resources at your fingertips so the technology supports the classroom instead of becoming the classroom.
One platform. Many classroom jobs.
Ember is not technology for technology's sake. Its systems are designed to solve actual classroom problems quickly and clearly.
Create lists of skills. Run practice sessions and test students on those skills using an inexhaustable series of queues. Score performance using Beginning, Developing, Proficient or Mastered.
Use seating charts for attendance, assignment scoring, and sending automated performance based comments to parents. Create seating charts for the classroom, the lab, and up to 2 other locations.
Create a rubric for any need and use them to score performance. Choose the performance requirements, the metrics, and the percentage each is used in calculating the final grade.
Create online quizzes. Assign them and set due dates by which they must be taken. Randomize questions so each student’s quiz is different from his classmates. Select to view 1 question at a time or all.
Use the Question and Answer tool as a resource to teacher and solidify understanding. Can be set to show correct answers and allow reset of progress back to zero and start over.
Post a daily record of activities for absent students including pages to read or an activity to be done. Teachers can also use this to communicate assignments to students in class when the teacher is absent.
Create online worksheets, set a due date, grade them from your own device or computer, flag instances of cheating, and allow corrections when desired.
Manage your tutoring schedule. Assign students to come before, during or after school for tutoring. Automatic emails are sent out notifying parents of any students who miss their appointment.
Create your own lesson template to use when creating new lesson plans. Create lessons, jump to any date, and copy from any of your previous lesson plans to today.
Manage rosters and seating, assign practice and quizzes, build vocabulary work, track skills and daily responses, create classroom resources, and use specialized teaching systems from a single environment.
